BIOFREEZE for daily activities injuries

by in Health Tips 20th July 2020

You have probably experienced at least once in your lifetime an injury that has been caused by something that you can’t really explain. However, injuries are not only caused by sports-related reasons. Injuries can also be caused by daily activities, which are probably more common than we think.

Following we present you a list of three common injuries caused by daily activities, the reasons behind them and ways to overcome them.

Neck and Back Pain

Neck and back pain are one of the most common injuries caused by daily activities. Especially, lower back and nape (the lower part of the back of the neck) pain are something that people of all ages are experiencing at some point in their lives.

These conditions are usually caused by body posture during daily activities such as sitting – especially while working -, posture while lifting objects and doing chores and sleeping posture. When the body posture is not right the muscles attached to the spine are forced to work harder and put undesirable forces on the discs, joints, and ligaments. Once the muscles supporting the spine experience tiredness, the discs, nerves, and joints become more vulnerable to injuries.

How to overcome neck and back pain?
For starters, try to keep the right body posture during your daily activities as much as possible. Also, apply Biofreeze Spray at least three times per day on the affected area to relieve pain and accelerate the recovery process. Secondly, spend ten minutes daily to perform exercises that will help you overcome pain and strengthen your back muscles in order to be less vulnerable to this type of injuries. Some exercises to help you overcome back and neck pain, improve body posture and your spine’s health are >> child’s pose, cobra pose, cat-cow, high plank, chin tuck, back burn and neck rotation and extension.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which pressure on the median nerve in the wrist causes numbness, weakness, and pain in the hand and wrist. What makes carpal tunnel a serious condition is that the median nerve controls a number of muscles. Specifically, the median nerve connects impulses from the brain to the arm, thumb, the first two fingers, and half of the ring finger and controls many muscles of the hand, wrist, and forearm.

This condition is caused by an increase in fluid pressure within the narrow compartment which results in the compression of the median nerve. The most common reasons behind it are repeated up and down movements at the wrist and fingers, especially when combined with gripping.

How to overcome carpal tunnel syndrome?
Use the Biofreeze Roll-On on the affected area, by squeezing the tube while applying it and massaging the area with the roll-on ball. Also, apply TheraBand™ Kinesiology Tape on the wrist, which will interact with both the nervous system to provide pain relief and the lymphatic system to reduce swelling and inflammation. Moreover, take small breaks between tasks and also perform hand exercises that will help you overcome the condition.

Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

The shoulder impingement syndrome is a common cause of shoulder pain and it occurs when a tendon becomes irritated and swollen, resulting in getting pinched between the bony structures of the shoulder joint. Following, this condition affects the biceps and rotator cuff tendons by causing inflammation of the tendons in both areas.

Shoulder impingement is basically caused by overuse of the shoulder. Specifically, repeated and intense movements of the shoulder are developing a collision between the bones and the tendons. Consequently, the tendons are getting irritated and can become thinner and weaker. Except for sports-related injuries, this shoulder condition can be caused from repetitive use of a computer mouse with an outstretched arm, bad body posture (i.e. bending forward of the head and shoulders) and as a result of weak shoulders and upper back muscles.

Have in mind that, if the shoulder impingement is not diagnosed and treated properly from the beginning, there is a high possibility for the tendon to tear in two.
In order to relieve the pain, use Biofreeze Gel up to four times per day by massaging the affected area and leaving it uncovered afterwards. Also, perform daily shoulder stretches especially in a warm shower to help you loosen up the pressure. Last but not least, avoid as much as possible repetitive movements of the shoulder.

Daily activities can often cause injuries that affect our life quality, especially if we don’t treat them immediately and effectively.

Biofreeze can help you relieve pain and accelerate recovery by also performing exercises and taking proper care of your condition!
